Road & Trail Biking

Cyclists staying at Loon Lodge can enjoy the Whitefish Area’s many miles of scenic paved roads and trails. The 54-mile Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway’s smooth, wide paved shoulders offer a great way to see the sites and get exercise, too. The Byway meets the Paul Bunyan Trail, the longest paved bike trail in Minnesota, in Pequot Lakes, Jenkins and Pine River. Take a virtual tour of the route, courtesy of the Minnesota's DNR. There are many pleasant spots along both of these routes to stop for a rest, a cool beverage and tasty snack, or even enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake. Just eight miles away, the City of Crosslake also has an extensive set of biking trails in and around the town.

“We love the Loon Lodge! When you think of an old fashioned cabin in the woods on a lake, THIS is the place! We have stayed the last 3 years in a row and booked it for next year too. It's quiet, the cabin is well appointed and always clean when we arrive. They have a washer/dryer unit and a mini dishwasher that rocks!”
